"All the Single Ladies"

As I was rockin' out to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" I realized that ever since I got into this position of Queen EVERYONE has seriously been bugging me about marriage. Are they crazy??? I know that I can handle England on my own. As Queen I now have the power of a Queen AND King, so I really have very little desire to look for a husband. Is there really anyone out there good enough for me?? If someone really wanted to be with me would they not desire my companionship and loyalty rather than my crown and wealth?

Are all of these people bigamists? Do they not remember that when the Coronation ring was placed on my finger I made a commitment in my relationship to England?
But.... you know if the right person did come along I could perhaps be persuaded to consider a marriage proposal.

  1. I ask you my "Good Lady" is it natural for the blind to guide those who can see?
ALSO ... Do you really think that the weak should rule over the strong???
Do you REALLY think that the insane and foolish should tell sane people what to do?

Figure yourself out before you claim to be a fit Queen for England

  2. You know what "JK"? You are a hack and a misogynist!! I hope Elizabeth bans you from having anything to do with the Protestant Church!

  3. Would you rather be a beggar and single than a Queen and married? If so I say get about it and leave the thrown to those who will produce an heir! Or do as your father would have done and change the rules so that you can marry whom you wish without giving over ANY of your power. Either way England needs the security of knowing she will have stong leadership for generations to come.

  4. ahem.....thrown?
    whom??
You are evidently an unearned person; I wonder therefore if you are fit to engage in such discourse as her royal person (against all nature) invites.

  5. A thousand pardons, that was supposed to say 'unlearned' (although 'unearned' seems to fit nicely as well). It was a typo; I told the council these dastardly machines would signal the end of civilized, artful elocution - they are the devil's inventions to be sure!

  6. Hmmmm...
You seem to pop up in the strangest places Henry. If I were Elizabeth I wouldn't trust you. As for these 'devil's inventions' maybe you should drag yourself into the second half of the 16th C and learn to use them. BTW I thought you were buried at Oxford where you couldn't cause any trouble!

  7. You are a strong and independant Queen I don't think everyone is crazy to push marriage on you. They are just looking out for the future of England. I don't blame you for having high standards and not rushing into marriage. Your just looking out for yourself and whats best for your country. I'm sure Mr. right is out there for you, just be careful not everyone can be trusted.

  8. I can understand why everyone wants you to have lots of kiddies. I mean it is a man's world and your advisors want to ensure that England will have a successor with your noble blood! That being said, make sure you marry the "right sort". We wouldn't want any Catholics in our Protestant country.

  9. My Queen - just remember what Uncle Vives always told us and keep those corrupt men away from you who are so virtuous. You have an integrity of the mind which extends to the body and you are free of all corruption. Those who wish you to marry, wish to corrupt your body and by doing so your mind. Remember it is the wise virgin who is filled with devine inspiration. (I guess we know what happened to your cousin Queen Mary).
